WASHINGTON, D.C (March 29, 2024) – Upside, a digital marketplace dedicated to empowering individuals and businesses financially, has been named one of America’s Best Loyalty Programs in 2024 by Newsweek and Statista. In addition to being recognized for its own product, Upside applauds the success of nearly 20 other loyalty programs it supports, like Schnucks Markets, Price Chopper/Market 32, Domino's, and Casey's.

"While we consider ourselves loyalty-adjacent, meaning that Upside itself isn't a loyalty program, we're honored to be recognized for the continued success of our personalized cash back promotions, which benefit both consumers and retailers," said Alex Kinnier, Upside Co-founder and CEO. "We're equally proud of our partners who have earned a spot on this year's list, and we're privileged to contribute to their success.”

Upside’s recent research about the loyalty space not only validated the importance of loyalty programing, but also uncovered a surprising gap between loyalty membership and behavior. The Upside product is working to help close that gap. Most loyalty members transact once a month or less, and 50% of loyalty members lapse within 12 months. Upside’s personalized promotions layer on to retailer’s existing loyalty programs to drive more visits from loyalty members, and encourage more loyalty signups. In fact, one grocer recently saw a 24% increase in visits from existing Rewards members, and a 2% same-store sales lift.

Founded in 2016, Upside has become the largest food and fuel network in the United States. To date, Upside has returned $670 million in cash to its users, generated $1.5 billion in profit for its retailer partners and allocated 1 percent of its revenue to support sustainability initiatives.
